Breakfast was a choice of menu items or the buffet, where the chef will prepare for you an omelette while you wait, fondue items, pastries and basic breakfast items in heated canisters. The choice is plenty and the dinning area is in a very calm elegant atmosphere. The first day we had eggs Benedict with salmon and crab cakes.. delicious, fresh squeezed OJ, and piping hot coffee… I was very pleased with the service and food. On the second day we chose the buffet, for me I don’t eat enough to feel I get my monies worth, but it was a nice change from the menu .
Hidden Day Spa
As locals in Whistler we headed across the walkway to Hidden Day Spa in the Glacier Lodge – Locals are 50% off Spa treatments. I was surprised to learn they do not have a website at this time… Facial, pedicure and massage… Excellent service and when we left I felt like a million dollars… all in tip included $125…try the old fashion method by telephone 604-938-1800
Lunch was back at the Chateau at Portobello Market and Fresh Bakery, I will often come to the upper village to drop in here and grab a sandwich or their parfait… great value, delicious food. We had a light lunch as later we attended the Whistler Blackcomb Fund-raiser on Whistler Mountain.
We loved our stay at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler and will definitely be a tourist in our own city again. It was kind of rewarding to spend three days within our resort mixing in with tourists and locals alike; and to feel proud that our service workers are leaving a lasting impression of excellence with our visitor.
- This particular visit was an auction table item purchased at one of the many fund-raisers in Whistler, so while the Chateau donated the item, someone actually paid to stay in the hotel.
