Social media is ALL about emotion, it’s the first place we go when we wake up each day, it’s where we keep an eye on what all our friends and family are too. So when you chose to use social media to SELL your products and services, you’ll need to remember in most cases we didn’t invite you into our news feed…. when you get there try to show some emotion, show us you care, give us some value!
Some do’s and don’ts of the savvy social media business:
DON’T
1- Do not auto post! Create quality content. Always go for quality over quantity.
2- Don’t just “get it done”. Have a strategy behind your posting and your accounts.
3- Don’t ghost post! Keep an eye on notifications, answer questions, give thanks, be social.
4- Do not post to sell
Do not focus solely on R.O.I. It’s hard to measure relationships and connections.
DO
1- Know your customers and pay attention to THEIR why. What do they need, what do they like about you, what could help them, what do THEY want.
2- Create content to answer frequently asked questions
3- Ask for reviews and ask what you can do to serve them better
4- Create problem-solving content: blog, video, Go live
5- Be genuine
6- Showcase what makes you unique. People might not be ready to buy but they can start to relate
7- Tell a story. Read your captions out loud. Would you talk to a friend that way?
8- Ask your HAPPY customers to write you a review or a recommendation as it’s called on Facebook today.
